April Product Review
At Slay Boxes, we're always updating and adding new products to our routines to make sure you get the best results possible. This month I had the pleasure of being sent several of the newer products that have recently graced our catalogue. Here are my first impressions and highlights:
Gruum Face Wash
This trendsetter is a must-have for the seasons grooming, with the ultimate power of cleansing, this face wash from new and upcoming Gruum has got us in a spin. The natural formulation of Eucalyptus, lavender and Aloe Vera is not only gentle on the skin but is also amazing for sensitive skin. The relaxing aroma of the lavender is perfect for your nightly routine, keeping irritation and dryness at bay.
This 500ml bottle of Vanilla & Mint mouthwash has immediately become the best part of my self-care routine. I've always used mouthwash in tandem with teeth-brushing as I believe it is such an important aspect of oral hygiene. Yet, I've never found a particular brand or flavour I've stuck with. However, from now on, Waken mouthwash is definitely the brand I will be purchasing from. As soon as you open the bottle you are met with a scent of vanilla so sweet it's as though you've been transported to your local ice cream shop. It's made with 0% alcohol, meaning it doesn't dry out your mouth and also doesn't feel too harsh against your teeth and gums. Not to mention how fresh it leaves your breath smelling afterwards.
Waken is also incredibly eco-friendly, with all of their products being made from natural ingredients and their containers being manufactured from recycled plastic. The bottle also looks really sleek sitting by your sink, akin to a posh shampoo bottle rather than mouthwash. They have several flavours available and I'll definitely be trying the Blackcurrant & Mint, once I'm finished with this one!
Dr. Botanicals Facial Scrub
This facial scrub works as a great exfoliator and really helps clean and rinse your pores. It's fairly abrasive so I don't recommend using it as part of a daily routine, but a couple of times a week is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells. The scrub feels great to apply and leaves the skin on your face feeling brand new. The contents also have a faint musky smell, as though you've just applied a few sprays of aftershave. Dr Botanicals is another eco-friendly company with completely vegan products, and if you visit their website, there is a petition which you can sign to help stop animal cruelty in cosmetics. So this is a brand I feel very comfortable recommending.
Man Cave Face Serum
The final product is Man Cave's anti-pollution face serum. Man Cave has a fantastic line of products, several of which I've used personally, and I found their face serum fit perfectly into my established skincare routine. I apply the serum after cleansing and before moisturising, as it helps keep the moisture locked into my skin. As well as lavishing your skin with multiple vitamins and natural ingredients, the serum also acts as a shield, defending your face against the visible effects long-term pollution can cause. While you won't notice any immediate results, extended use will do wonders for your complexion, as well as leaving your face with that smooth hydrated feeling. Man Cave is also Vegan-friendly and cruelty-free, so you can feel even better about your purchase.
Dermalogica Micro-Pore Mist
Let's start toning it down! Pores can be pesky things when you can't take control of them, this wonder product minimises visible pores and reduces any excess oils with just a simple spray. Diminish the appearance of pores, brighten skin and even skin tone all with one spray each day. The antioxidant-rich blend of Green Tea and Witch Hazel provides a tightening effect, making your pores seem smaller while Cucumber Extract refreshes the senses for a cool pick-me-up. Try the Slay routine 'Tone It Down' and tackle your pore problems!
